Episode 5: Reunion and Forever
The night of Adunni’s exhibition was a grand affair. The gallery was filled with art lovers, critics, and admirers who had come to see her work. As she stood in the centre of the room, receiving praise and congratulations, her heart still felt incomplete. She wished Akin could be there with her, to share in the joy of her success.
As the evening progressed, Adunni excused herself from the crowd and stepped outside to get some air. The cool Parisian breeze brushed against her skin as she looked out at the city’s skyline, her thoughts drifting to Akin. She wondered if he was thinking of her too if he missed her as much as she missed him.
Suddenly, she heard a familiar voice behind her. “It’s beautiful, isn’t it?”
She turned around to find Akin standing there, a tender smile on his face. Adunni’s heart skipped a beat. She couldn’t believe her eyes. “Akin, what are you doing here?”
“I’m here for you, Adunni,” he said, stepping closer. “I’ve been a fool to let my pride get in the way of what really matters. I’m sorry for everything. I love you, and I don’t want to lose you.”
Tears welled up in Adunni’s eyes as she looked at the man she loved. “I love you too, Akin. I’m sorry for pushing you away. I’ve missed you so much.”
Akin gently wiped away her tears and pulled her into his arms. In that moment, all the pain and uncertainty of the past few months melted away, leaving only the pure, unshakable love they shared. They kissed under the Parisian sky, the lights of the city twinkling around them like stars.
From that day on, Adunni and Akin vowed to never let anything come between them again. They returned to Lagos together, stronger and more united than ever. Their love had been tested, but it had also grown deeper and more.
