Episode 2: The Library Encounter
A week later, Tunde found himself once again buried in textbooks at the university library. The weight of upcoming exams and deadlines pressed heavily on him. He was engrossed in his notes when he noticed a familiar figure seated at a nearby table, surrounded by a disorganized mess of books and papers.
It was Chika.
Tunde hesitated for a moment before gathering his courage and walking over. “Hey, Chika. Fancy seeing you here!”
Chika looked up, her face lighting up with recognition. “Tunde! It’s nice to see you. I didn’t expect to run into you here.”
“Yeah, I’m just trying to make some headway with my project,” Tunde said, gesturing to his pile of textbooks. “How about you?”
“Same here,” Chika replied with a sigh. “My final project is a bit overwhelming.”
Tunde noticed the frustration in her eyes and offered, “If you want, we could study together. It might help to have someone to bounce ideas off of.”
Chika’s eyes brightened at the suggestion. “That sounds like a great idea. I could use a fresh perspective.”
From that day on, their study sessions became a regular routine. What began as academic collaboration soon evolved into a deeper connection. They spent hours discussing their coursework but also delved into more personal topics, sharing their dreams and aspirations. As the weeks passed, Tunde and Chika found solace and support in each other, their friendship growing stronger with each session.
