Episode 1: The Accidental Meeting
The Lagos State University campus was a vibrant mosaic of students, each navigating their daily routines amidst the hustle and bustle of academic life. Tunde, a dedicated final-year student majoring in Computer Science, was weaving through the throngs of students, his mind racing with anxiety. He had a big project due and an exam looming, and he was already late for his 8 a.m. class.
As he hurried down the corridor, his eyes fixed on his watch, he didn’t notice the young woman ahead of him. In a split second, their paths crossed. Tunde collided with her, sending a cascade of papers fluttering to the ground. Startled, he looked up to find a young woman kneeling to gather her scattered notes.
“Oh, I’m really sorry!” Tunde said, his face flushed with embarrassment as he bent down to help her.
“No problem at all,” she replied, her voice gentle but firm. “I’m late for class too.”
They worked quickly to gather the papers, and Tunde took the opportunity to introduce himself. “I’m Tunde, by the way.”
“Chika,” she said with a warm smile. “Nice to meet you, Tunde.”
Their brief exchange was punctuated by the hurried footsteps of students and the distant chime of a bell signalling the start of lectures. They parted ways with a shared sense of urgency, but Tunde couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something special about their brief encounter. As he walked to his class, he found himself wondering if he would see her again.
